LearningSuccess Coach Training

Grace's previous experience as a science educator includes eight years teaching science at the middle school, high school, and college levels. All teaching experiences have been in the private sector, allowing her to explore and apply progressive teaching methods in the classroom.

She has worked with chemistry and biology high school teachers through the TOPS (Teachers + Occidental = Partnerships in Science) program at Occidental College as part of the teacher education team, as well as the chemistry curriculum development team. She developed and launched a collaborative learning program for chemistry and math students at Occidental College, known as the Academic Mastery Program (AMP).

While her teaching experience has focused on science and math, the training received as a LearningSuccess Coach has prepared her to help students in the language arts (writing, reading, spelling, critical thinking skills, comprehension skills) and at all levels of math.  More importantly, she has developed extensive expertise in how people, both young and old, take in and process information in a specific learning environment.  Her background in science, math and the language arts allows her to help students with multiple needs across several subject areas.  See Services for more details.

She enjoys reviewing and providing information on alternative educational research, perspectives, and choices that enhances the growth of individuals in reaching their potential at any stage of life via the Facebook page:

Learning on the Verge of Education.

Grace lives with her husband and two school-aged children in Glendale, California. She enjoys dancing, yoga, nature, and gathering knowledge.  She is fluent in Spanish.  She is also currently substitute teaching at the Waverly School, the only progressive school in the San Gabriel Valley spanning young K through high school.
